First Post

Hi, my name is Aimee Goodwin. I've decided to start this blog, with my sister, Olive. I'll probably write in this blog more than my sis but she'll write, too. Our dad passed away last month. He was in a bad car accident. We miss him a lot. Olive especially because she was closer to dad while I'm closer to mom. We just moved from Kansas, with our mom, to our Aunt Judy's house, in Star Valley. Olive and I also visited Aunt Judy for a couple weeks, back in June.

I'm excited to have my own room here. Back at our old home, Olive and I shared a room. Here, we each get our own rooms. I think I want plum and jade green walls. Those two colors are so pretty. We're going to pick up the paint for our rooms in a little bit.

I guess the schools here start tomorrow but mom is keeping us home this week so can settle in. So we'll start school next week. I hope we don't miss much.

Have you ever lost someone you love? Have you ever moved to a new home?

  1. Salut Aimee (and Olive),

Welcome to the blogging world! I can't wait to get to know you and your sister more. I'm so sorry about your dad. I really can't imagine what losing someone close must be like; I haven't lost anyone as of yet. I do know about moving faraway, though. I left Paris to study in the United States several years ago, and I haven't been back since. I left my parents and even my identical twin, Juliette. But of course it was my choice to leave - Juliette and I weren't getting along at the moment, and I really needed a change of pace. Still, moving to a new place was a huge adjustment, and I know you must miss your old home in Kansas. If you ever want to talk about that, I'm here.

By the way, plum and jade are so pretty together! What colors did Olive choose?

  2. Thank you, Sophie. I hope we can get to know each other more, too.

Losing our dad was really hard. We both miss him a lot everyday. I still remember the expression on my mom's face, clearly, when she got the news. ;(

That must have been hard to move all the way from Paris to the USA. I hope you and your sister are getting along better now. Olive and I fight sometimes but we always make up. :)

  3. We are here to welcome you to blogging too, we are really sorry that you lost your dad, that had to have been really rough on you. We lost Grandee and that was bad. Mummy is a single person so we do not have anyone else in our lives but Nana.

Taryn has never had to move, but I have moved so many times, most of the time it was a good move, but not always. We miss our bunk house on the ranch, that was our favorite home.

Take care and we are here if you want to talk too. Sophie and I are great friends too, you will be blessed with her friendship.

    Smiles,
    Marsali
