Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello! It's been forever since we've last blogged; sorry about the long absence. Anyway, Happy Valetine's Day, even though it was actually yesterday.

Yesterday, I awoke to the delicious aroma of cookies baking in the oven. Olive had gotten up early so that she and our Aunt Judy could bake some Raspberry Chocolate Swirled Cutout cookies, yum!

Olive offered me a cookie and it was delicious! I love how the cookies have a marble swirl to them and they were topped with a raspberry glaze and red sprinkles. Valentine's was off to a good start.

Later in the day, Olive and I got a box of chocolates to share, from our mom and aunt. We also each got a gourmet chocolate heart candy which was simply divine!

We definitely spent the afternoon eating too much chocolate but it was totally worth it.

Afterward, we grabbed some water (had to have something healthy after all that candy) and cozied up to watch a fun movie. Overall it was a great Valentine's Day for us. :)

How did you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Oops!

Hey everyone, it's Olive. First off-ack! Sorry neither of us have posted in MONTHS! In fact it's been just about a year! Yikes!

Okay, so...long story short, I may have a detention on Monday. Okay, I *do* have a detention on Monday. Now you want the story. Well, here goes. We were in social studies class yesterday, and we were supposed to hand in our homework. As my teacher came by to collect my paper, I was searching for it. Then I suddenly remembered that I accidentally left it on my desk, at home. Before I realized what I had said, I blurted-well, a word I'm not going to repeat here. All my classmates turned toward me and of course my teacher heard the word. She then told me that I had a DT. I quickly slunk down in my seat, embarrassed at what I'd just blurted in front of the teacher and miserable about the DT I have to serve on Monday.

After school was over, I hesitantly walked up to my teacher and apologized for blurting...the word...and I told her I'd left my social studies homework at home on accident and asked if I could bring it in on Monday. She told me that she was disappointed but luckily she is allowing me to turn in my homework late.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've had a DT. Last year, when all the bullying was happening, there was a day that I had to serve a DT because I'd been lingering in the hallway when the bell rang for class. I'd been reluctant to go in.

Usually I'm not a bad student. Detentions are not the norm for me-I'm not a girl with a "bad rep" I'm trying to keep up. I'm just a girl who sometimes makes mistakes that lands me in detention. Here's hoping things go alright on Monday.

P.S. Have you ever gotten in trouble with one of your teachers?

Happy New Year!

Olive here. My sis and I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year!

Overall, we had a nice, quiet holiday. It was sad not having dad here to celebrate

with us but we tried to keep some of his favorite traditions alive, like singing "Rudolph Got Runover By a Reindeer" in loud, funny voices. It makes us laugh each time. On Christmas Eve, we sat around with eggnog and gingerbread men, which is another tradition. I love dipping the gingerbread men into my eggnog.

We got some nice presents on Christmas. We each got a couple new books, some new movies, etc.

We didn't really do much for New Years Eve, besides watch movies and eat Chinese food-yum!

School vacations seem to go by way too fast, don't you think? We're already hard work reading new books to write reports on. And we have a project where we have to rewrite a nursery rhyme with bigger words (our teacher calls them quarter words). It's not as easy as it sounds. I'm doing "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and I can't think of anything for it. :/ At least it'll have a pretty border of sheep.

How were your holidays? What are some of your favorite traditions?

School Is Getting Better and a Fun Birthday

Hello!

We are so sorry that it has been awhile since we've last blogged. We're still here! Sometimes life just gets in the way or we mean to post but forget or something. You probably know how it is.

Anyway, to update you on Olive's being bullied, in September...it continued for a couple weeks. Olive was really frustrated and overwhelmed. She even failed some worksheets and quizzes and a test :( Seeing her hurt like that made me a bit overwhelmed, too. I was torn between wanting to hug my sister tightly and stand up or let her be alone and try to figure it out herself. Has anyone else ever been torn like that?

Finally, I went and told the teacher what was happening. Most of the other kids had stopped before that point but there were a couple that still kept teasing Olive. The teacher and principal had a talk with them and also had a meeting with us. We were both nervous but I knew it was the right thing to do. Before our teacher had meetings with everyone, she caught Olive being teased. Olive had run out of the classroom crying. I followed her of course.

A couple girls in our class as well as a couple in other grades were there for us. Tessa, Annie, Susie, Marina...thank you, guys! *Hugs.* (and hugs to everyone here who has helped us)!.

Everything has since died down which is good; If I could go back in time, I would have told the teacher sooner. I gave my sis her Blue back and she was happy that I saved Blue. I know she would've regretted it if something had happened to her beloved stuffed animal. I've also been helping her get back on track, in her schoolwork. We even stayed after school a few times, so we could get help from our teacher.

At the end of September, we celebrated our birthdays! Mine is Sept. 30th and Olive's is Sept. 29th. We had a party and invited Marina, Susie, Annie and Tessa. We got some wonderful presents-necklaces with our initials, from our friends, stuffed animals (Olive got me a Monstaz and I got her an Uglydoll Whippy because I thought his bio fit). We got new outfits from our mom and American Girl dolls from our mom and Aunt Judy! Olive got Marie-Grace and I got Caroline. We play with them a lot.

Last month, another girl moved to Star Valley and is in our class. Her name is Sloane and she's from New York City but we haven't really hung out so I don't know much else.

Other than all that, there isn't really much else going on. Here are a few pics from our birthday party:

School Woes

Olive and I had our first day of school today. It went alright for me but not for my sister. I guess Olive brought her Blue (from Blues Clues) stuffed animal to school, in her backpack. Somehow Blue accidentally fell out, along with everything else in her backpack, and before I knew it, some of the other kids found out and began making fun of Olive! I saw her eyes fill with tears :(. There were a few girls that didn't laugh-I'm glad they didn't. The teacher was out of the room, making copies of a worksheet, when it happened.

A little while after we got home from school, I looked out my window and saw Olive throw Blue in the garbage can. Then I heard her bedroom door slam shut. Neither of us have watched Blues Clues for years but Olive loves her Blue. Dad gave her Blue for Christmas when we were little. And Olive and Dad were really close.

I hope tomorrow goes better.

Love,
Aimee

P.S. I grabbed Blue from the trash before it began to rain. I don't want my sis to regret tossing her out over some stupid, mean comments.
